RateGain describes Parity+ as tracking a hotel's rates across direct and indirect channels, member and mobile app rates included, identifying violations by cause, and detecting the wholesaler or OTA behind a leak. StayParity checks on a schedule whether Booking.com, Expedia or a Google Hotels seller sells your room for less than your own site, matched like for like, and keeps each undercut in a list until it's fixed.
They overlap on monitoring. They don't do the same job. This page sets out where each one fits, from each company's own public pages, and says so when something isn't public.
A note on names
RateGain sells its hotel parity product as Parity+ (RateGain Parity+ (opens in a new tab)), called Parity Plus on its August 2026 earnings call (RateGain earnings call, 6 August 2026 (opens in a new tab)). RateGain lists it among its data products, with AirGain, CarGain, Demand.AI, Optima and Rev.AI (RateGain annual report 2025–26 (opens in a new tab)). If you're searching for "RateGain rate parity" or "RateGain Parity Plus", this is the product you mean.
What RateGain Parity+ does
In RateGain's own words, Parity+ "keeps you in sync with all your partners to always give the right price across all channels" (RateGain Parity+ (opens in a new tab)). Its product page describes:
- Tracking "across direct and indirect channels including Metas, POS, Mobile app & member rate".
- "The Why Behind The Parity": violations identified "on the basis of caching, bait & switch, promotions etc".
- Closed Loop Rate Parity, which "confirms the source of parity violation", and a Parity+ Closed Loop Service for "detecting the wholesaler or OTA behind your revenue leakage".
- "Automated Rule Based Real Time Alerts" that you customise "to notify your teams".
- A dashboard called Parity Pulse, an overall parity score, and "win, loss and meet instances", with parity at regional, country, city and hotel level.
- Potential revenue loss per channel, your brand site's visibility and rank on metasearch benchmarked against a comp set, and on-demand reports to validate a violation.
In the research and development note of its 2025–26 annual report, RateGain says work was done "to help users understand why parity violations occur, such as room / rate mapping issues (AI room / Inclusion mapping), apple to apple of rooms comparison and wholesaler leakage Dashboard" (RateGain annual report 2025–26 (opens in a new tab)). On its August 2026 earnings call, RateGain said the next generation of Parity Plus, launched that quarter, "automates much of the test booking process for our enterprise customers" (RateGain earnings call, 6 August 2026 (opens in a new tab)).
The product page is headed "Protecting the Largest Hotel Chains". Its price isn't on it; it offers a live demo.
StayParity doesn't trace a leak to the partner behind it, or check member, mobile or point-of-sale rates, at all.
What StayParity does
StayParity reads the public prices on Booking.com, Expedia and every seller Google Hotels shows next to your hotel, and puts each one beside your direct price for the same stay.
- Like for like. Room, guests, board, cancellation terms and tax basis are matched before two prices are compared. A comparison that can't be matched that closely is still shown, labelled "Cheapest rooms", so you know it isn't a same-room match.
- A queue, not a report. Each undercut opens in a list and stays there until it's fixed or you dismiss it. It closes on its own after two clean scheduled checks in a row, so a price that flickers back doesn't slip past you. A clean check you run yourself closes it at once. A live undercut is re-read at least every 4 days.
- Alerts where you work. In the app, by email (instant, daily or weekly, per person) and by signed webhook. Each hotel's alert rule says whether an alert waits for a confirmed undercut or goes out as soon as one is seen.
- Confirmed where it can be. A Booking.com or Expedia undercut can be confirmed on that channel's own page when you've given us your listing there. A Google Hotels seller's price is the one Google lists.
- Your direct price. If your site runs on BON, it reads your price the way a guest sees it. On any other engine, it uses the price Google Hotels shows for your official site. Nothing to install, no access to your systems.
- A book-direct badge for your own site, which never advertises that an OTA is cheaper.
What it doesn't do: test bookings, tracing a leak to a wholesaler, telling you why a rate leaked, member-only or mobile-only prices, views by country or device, revenue-loss estimates, or your rank on metasearch. It tells you where and when you're undercut. Finding out why is up to you, and our guides on why Booking.com is cheaper and why Google Hotels shows a lower price show how.

When RateGain is the better choice
- You run a large chain, and you need to know which wholesaler or OTA leaked a rate, and why.
- You need member-only, mobile-app and point-of-sale prices checked, not just the public price.
- You want parity rolled up by region, country and city, with a revenue-loss figure per channel.
- You already use RateGain for distribution or rate intelligence and want parity in the same place.
When StayParity fits
- You're an independent hotel or a small group, and the question is simply: is anyone selling my room for less than my own site tonight, or next month?
- You want each undercut matched like for like, so a room-only rate against your half-board doesn't send you chasing a false alarm.
- You want a list you work through and close, with alerts by email or webhook, not a dashboard to check.
- Google Hotels matters to you, and you want to see every seller listed there, by name.
Knowing where you're undercut comes before proving who did it. An independent can start there, and make a test booking themselves for the cases that keep coming back. The rules behind it all are in EU rate parity rules, and the terms in the glossary.
Questions
Does StayParity make test bookings?
No. It reads public prices and tells you where and when a channel sells your room for less, like for like. To find which partner a leaked rate came from, you make a test booking yourself. Our Google Hotels guide shows how.
Why Google Hotels shows a lower price
Does RateGain Parity+ make test bookings?
RateGain said on its August 2026 earnings call that the next generation of Parity Plus automates much of the test booking process for its enterprise customers. How it works isn't described on its public pages; ask RateGain.
Does RateGain publish the price of Parity+?
Not on its Parity+ page, which has no price and offers a live demo instead.
