Triptease compares OTA prices with yours each time a guest searches your booking engine, shows the result on your site if you want it to, and can discount your price to match. StayParity checks on a schedule whether Booking.com, Expedia or a Google Hotels seller sells your room for less than your own site, matched like for like, and keeps each undercut in a list until it's fixed.
They overlap on monitoring. They don't do the same job. This page sets out where each one fits, from each company's own public pages, and says so when something isn't public.
A note on names
Triptease's help centre calls its monitoring Parity Monitoring and its dashboard the Parity Manager (Triptease help: which OTAs it tracks (opens in a new tab)), and calls parity data the backbone of its Data Marketing Platform (Triptease help: how Triptease gets its pricing data (opens in a new tab)). Price Check is the message that shows OTA prices on your own site, and Price Match is the add-on that matches them (Triptease Price Match (opens in a new tab)). If you're searching for "Triptease parity" or "Triptease Parity Manager", this is what you mean.
What Triptease does for parity
In Triptease's own words, it gives "full visibility of your direct price vs OTAs for every search - including metasearch prices" (Triptease solutions: rate parity (opens in a new tab)). Its public pages describe:
- Website parity from real searches. When a guest searches your booking engine, Triptease "gathers pricing data for that search from OTA website in real time", so the data is weighted by what your guests actually search (Triptease help: how Triptease gets its pricing data (opens in a new tab)). Its help centre names 18 OTAs it tracks, among them Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda and Trip.com (Triptease help: which OTAs it tracks (opens in a new tab)).
- Google Hotel Ads parity from a fixed set of stays: "2 adults, ranging from 1 to 7 nights, for the upcoming 90 days" (Triptease help: the Google Hotel Ads parity view (opens in a new tab)). It says an OTA it sees advertising against your hotel on Google Hotel Ads is tracked there too (Triptease help: which OTAs it tracks (opens in a new tab)).
- A dashboard with "worst offending OTAs, urgent issues to fix, parity trends and a heatmap calendar of future dates" (Triptease solutions: rate parity (opens in a new tab)).
- Screenshots of an undercut as evidence, "currently available for Booking.com, Agoda and HRS" (Triptease help: how screenshots work (opens in a new tab)), and the searching guest's country and currency, to help you reproduce what they saw (Triptease help: replicating an undercut (opens in a new tab)).
- Email: a parity report, daily or weekly, and surge alerts on "suspicious looking increases" in your undercut rate (Triptease help: parity notifications (opens in a new tab)).
- Price Check, which shows OTA prices beside yours on your site, and Price Match, which discounts your price on your booking engine and on Google Hotel Ads by "the minimum needed to win the booking", up to a limit you set. It's an add-on and needs promo codes set up in your booking engine (Triptease Price Match (opens in a new tab)).
Triptease says it helps "hotel teams - big or small" (Triptease solutions (opens in a new tab)). Its pricing isn't published: it "is customized based on your hotel's specific needs and challenges" (Triptease pricing (opens in a new tab)).
Acting on an undercut the moment a guest sees it, on your own site and on Google, is something StayParity doesn't do at all.
What StayParity does
StayParity reads the public prices on Booking.com, Expedia and every seller Google Hotels shows next to your hotel, and puts each one beside your direct price for the same stay.
- Like for like. Room, guests, board, cancellation terms and tax basis are matched before two prices are compared. A comparison that can't be matched that closely is still shown, labelled "Cheapest rooms", so you know it isn't a same-room match.
- A queue, not a report. Each undercut opens in a list and stays there until it's fixed or you dismiss it. It closes on its own after two clean scheduled checks in a row, so a price that flickers back doesn't slip past you. A clean check you run yourself closes it at once. A live undercut is re-read at least every 4 days.
- Alerts where you work. In the app, by email (instant, daily or weekly, per person) and by signed webhook. Each hotel's alert rule says whether an alert waits for a confirmed undercut or goes out as soon as one is seen.
- Confirmed where it can be. A Booking.com or Expedia undercut can be confirmed on that channel's own page when you've given us your listing there. A Google Hotels seller's price is the one Google lists.
- Your direct price. If your site runs on BON, it reads your price the way a guest sees it. On any other engine, it uses the price Google Hotels shows for your official site. Nothing to install, no access to your systems.
- A book-direct badge for your own site, which never advertises that an OTA is cheaper.
What it doesn't do: price matching, showing OTA prices to your guests, weighting by what your guests search, screenshots, test bookings, member-only or mobile-only prices, or views by country or device. It tells you where and when you're undercut. Finding out why is up to you, and our guides on why Booking.com is cheaper and why Google Hotels shows a lower price show how.

When Triptease is the better choice
- You want to act on an undercut at the moment a guest sees it, by matching the OTA's price on your booking engine or on Google Hotel Ads.
- You want parity measured against what your own guests search, dates and stay lengths included, rather than a fixed set of stays.
- You want OTA prices shown to guests beside yours on your website.
- You already use Triptease for metasearch or website messaging and want parity in the same place.
When StayParity fits
- You're an independent hotel or a small group, and the question is simply: is anyone selling my room for less than my own site tonight, or next month?
- You want each undercut matched like for like, so a room-only rate against your half-board doesn't send you chasing a false alarm.
- You want a list you work through and close, with alerts by email or webhook, not a dashboard to check.
- You'd rather fix the rate at its source than discount to match it, and you don't want your website ever showing a guest that an OTA is cheaper.
The rules behind rate parity are in EU rate parity rules, and the terms in the glossary.
Questions
Does StayParity match OTA prices for me?
No. It tells you where and when a channel sells your room for less, like for like, and keeps each case open until the price is fixed. Changing your rate, or the channel's, stays with you.
Does Triptease publish its prices?
No. Its pricing page says pricing is customized to each hotel. For its data marketing and on-site products it charges a fixed licence fee, which depends on the hotel's size, its direct booking volume and the products chosen.
